Lifekind Mattress Arrives - 100% Natural Rubber

Our 100% Natural Rubber Mattress has arrived. I had researched on and off for a LONG time, and when I finally made contact with Lifekind I got a great response back from Rowena ... well, after a year of questions, we finally made the purchase! Lifekind's customer servive was unreal, the best! Every mattress is made to order, so they spent time getting details on our sleeping preferences to find out how they can make the best fit.

Dave is working on making the bed frame. My first time sleeping on a rubber mattress was last night and I have to say it's so comfortable! I can't believe what I was missing out on all these years! It was the best feeling to know that what I was sleeping on was healthy and I think I had my first relaxing sleep in years. We have the 100% organic flannel mattress pad, and then 100% organic cotton sheets.

I highly recommend people read the book "Toxic Bedrooms"

From their website:

Lifekind's mattresses are the first mattresses to be GREENGUARD certified, a recognition granted only to products that meet GREENGUARD’s exacting low-VOC emission standards. (Click to read more).

This metal-free mattress uses a six-inch supporting core of pure 100% natural rubber manufactured using the Talalay method, and is made right here in the United States. The 6" rubber core is covered on both sides with our durable, double-stitched organic cotton quilted cover.

Please note the way in which our mattress quilting is constructed. Thick layers of naturally-fire-retardant Naturally Safer™ pure wool are highly compressed during our specialized quilting process to ensure your safety and comfort. Since the paddings are compressed, this mattress will not develop significant body impressions, and it only needs to be turned and rotated once or twice a year. It is also mold-, mildew-, and dust-mite resistant.

Don't let the words confuse you: "latex mattress," "natural rubber mattress," and "natural mattress" can all be used to describe products that are far from all-natural. Most so-called "natural rubber" mattresses are actually a blend of natural rubber and synthetic latex (styrene-butadiene rubber, or "SBR"), which can offgas unhealthful fumes.
